Since the entry of Covid-19 in Indonesia, all people have been asked to stay at home and do everything from home. While at home, maybe many people find it difficult  to maintain their health because they can't exercise outside the home as usual or are lazing too much at home. However, you can still live healthy at home by following these tips. Here are tips for healthy living at home during the Covid-19 pandemic: 

1. Maintain cleanliness

        Maintaining cleanliness is one of the things that must be done in the midst of a pandemic like now. At times like this, implementing a clean life can prevent us for infection with viruses and bacteria that cause disease, including the corona virus. The simplest way to maintain hygiene in the midst of a pandemic is to wash your hands regularly and spray frequently touched items with a disinfectant.


2. Eat healthy foods.

        Eating more fruits and vegetables is one of the healthy lifestyles, which is very important to do during the current corona virus pandemic. Fruits and vegetables are also a source of fiber, vitamins and minerals, and other important compounds that the body needs. Store fruits and vegetables in the refrigerator to allow them to retain their nutrients, in addition to being eaten fresh. By frequently consuming vegetables and fruits, our bodies will be healthier and can also increase the body's resistance to bacteria or viruses such as Covid-19.


3. Exercise

        In order for your body and mind to stay healthy at home, apart from sunbathing, you must still make time for exercise. No need for strenuous exercise, light exercise like jogging around the house is enough to keep the body moving. In addition, doing physical activity at home such as cleaning the house is also effective as a substitute for exercising outside the home. Regular exercise every day can keep the body healthy, especially to increase the body's resistance to be protected from viruses.


4. Check yourself

        One of the most helpful ways to prevent overeating is to understand why it occurs. There are many reasons why you may need to overeat, including stress or boredom. If you find yourself eating too often or eating too much at one time, take a minute and check on yourself. First, it is important to determine whether you are eating because you are hungry and need food, or for some other reason. Before eating, pay special attention to your feelings, such as stress, boredom, loneliness, or anxiety. Simply pausing and evaluating the situation can help you understand what is compelling you to overeat and can help prevent future overeating. If you have trouble fighting your appetite, you may need to seek professional help. Especially if it's a common occurrence or you eat until you feel uncomfortable and experience feelings of shame or guilt afterward, it may be a sign of an eating disorder.


5. Meet the needs of body fluids

        Consume at least 2 liters of water or the equivalent of 8 glasses every day. Water has many benefits, such as distributing oxygen levels to all body cells, so that the circulatory system remains smooth. In addition, data water cleans harmful toxins from the body and maintains kidney function. Always place a bottle of water near you or your desk at home. Or you can set an alarm on your smartphone that reminds you to meet your fluid needs.


Those are some tips for healthy living during a pandemic. I hope you can apply it in your daily life. Stay healthy and remember the message from mom to use your mask, wash your hand with soap and avoid crowds.
