MARIPOSA

In my opinion, as someone who likes to read teenlit novels, this Mariposa novel is a good novel and is very suitable for reading by today's teenagers. I quite like the writer's thought to unite good girl with good boy. Because in other stories, good girls are usually juxtaposed with bad boys or vice versa. As for the characters, I like Iqbal and Glen the most. The figure of iqbal is described as a cold smart guy but turns out to be attentive too. While the figure of Glen, his best friend Iqbal, is described as a funny figure.

Actually, Acha's character is also unique. She is a smart girl, spoiled, never gives up. However, I do not like her nature that often pursues iqbal. But i am still amazed by acha's efforts and struggles to pursue iqbal. Furthermore, the character of juna in the novel is less prominent. He should appear more often because he acts as the third person who plays a role in making Iqbal jealous. And I think the film version is no better than the novel. There are several scenes in the film that i think are too exaggerated and not according to my expectations. I prefer the novel version, because just reading the emotions in the story I can feel more.
